eBay’s sneaker authenticators can tell fake sneakers from authentic just from the scent. And its that authentic sneaker smell that sneakerheads actually look for when spotting a new pair. We worked with olfactory scientists to recreate the familiar smell and immortalize it in a luxury small batch limited edition candle that we dropped on Valentine’s Day. The candles sold out in minutes, reappearing at high markups shortly thereafter on, you guessed it, eBay.
